A Powerful Application of the Feldenkrais Method® and Interpersonal Neurobiology
taught by Donna Ray, MFT, Feldenkrais Trainer
September 24-26, 2015 with an optional public workshop September 27, 2015
The Feldenkrais Method® promotes integration, which helps resolve post traumatic stress disorder. It frees us from the rigidity, chaos, and fear caused by stress and trauma. We recover, become balanced and integrated and experience vibrant health. Regaining the ability to respond in the present moment creates personal and social well-being.
Integration takes place when all of the parts of the brain/nervous system, body/mind work together in harmony. Then hope, capability, and connection to ourselves and to others is possible. We laugh easily, feel energetic, and experience flexibility in our minds, emotions, and bodies. We breathe easily, act spontaneously, and feel connected to our community.
Interpersonal neurobiology, developed by Dr. Daniel Siegel, informs us that the brain is a living system that is open and dynamic with the ability to integrate its parts harmoniously, even if in times of stress or trauma it appears to disintegrate or become chaotic.
The Feldenkrais Method, coupled with an emphasis on deep relational contact moves the chaotic, rigid behaviors of the traumatized person to harmonious, integrated, responsive interactions that create well-being.
Participants in this seminar will benefit personally and professionally. The practitioner's most important tool is herself. Learning to be present and to hear, see, sense, and communicate clearly facilitates the best therapeutic outcome. Practicing Mindful Movement Systems based on The Feldenkrais Method and interpersonal neurobiology is rejuvenating. It allows the practitioner to experience integration and share this state with clients, as well as friends and family members.
As a Feldenkrais Practitioner you are encouraged to attend the optional Public Workshop on Sunday. You will get a clear example of how to create and present a course for the general public with this topic in the foreground.
