An exciting new movement program that helps you feel more at home in your body throughout your entire pregnancy and beyond!
Pregnant Pauses is designed to help you adjust to the changes occurring through each stage of your pregnancy. By doing small, gentle movements for only 20-40 minutes a day, you will be amazed at how easily you'll be able to roll over in bed, get in and out of a chair, carry your growing baby and move more freely. It is as simple as doing slow, easy movements, at your own pace, in the comfort of your own home.
Pregnant Pauses consists of six different Pauses (gentle movement lessons) along with short talks to help you understand more of the thinking and theory behind each lesson. After each Pause, Alan breaks the lesson down into its particular details by demonstrating with one of the students. In addition, each disc contains extra material with tips, insights and commentary to further your understanding.
Pregnant Pauses utilizes your nervous system's innate intelligence to bring about a new and more effective relationship between your muscular and skeletal systems. Based on years of research through wide-ranging applications, Pregnant Pauses is a direct application of the Feldenkrais Method® of Somatic Education.
Easier than yoga and more fun than Pilates, you'll be guided to a new understanding of how your body works and how you can move more easily with less effort. You can begin at any stage of your pregnancy and you will improve no matter what shape you are in.

"The excellent 'Pregnant Pauses: Movement for Moms', with Alan Questel, features six DVDs of lessons in the Feldenkrais Method for moms-to-be. Each segment of about 40 minutes teaches the student to make subtle, gentle shifts in how she moves, so that everyday activities such as rolling over, pressing and lifting, and even breathing become easier. Questel, who was trained by Moshe Feldenkrais, provides highly skilled, fluid instruction that encourages viewers to tune in to the processes of their own bodies."

"As a longtime studier and practitioner of the Feldenkrais Method of movement, Alan Questel came to realize that pregnant women would best benefit from his teachings. 'They were really the ideal population to interact with about this, in that they're carrying a new life in them and they're at a time when their bodes are changing radically, from week to week to week,' he tells PEOPLE.
Thus, Questel created Pregnant Pauses, a video series in which he instructs expectant mothers how to master movement as they move through the different stages of pregnancy via repetitions of movement termed 'pauses'."
