A Feldenkrais®
Awareness Through Movement® Class
with Al
Wadleigh, GCFP
The Feldenkrais Method uses a series of gentle, organized movements
that direct your awareness to how you move as a whole person. Feldenkrais®
lessons gently resolve conflicts between muscle groups at the neurological
level to create changes that are deeply sensed. The skeletal system becomes
free to support you in gravity, and the muscles can then do their job of
efficiently moving the skeleton. Restrictive or painful habituated patterns
of movement are replaced with efficient, comfortable ways of moving. Wear
loose comfortable clothing and bring your friends! These lessons will be
done on the floor on mats.
• Improve flexibility
• Experience deep relaxation
• Reduce tension and pain
• Improve posture, balance & coordination
• Enhance athletic performance

Awareness
Through Movement is a series of verbally guided, gentle, slow and organized
movements typically done on the floor on a mat in a group setting. These
lessons guide your awareness toward your own movement patterns. You begin
to generate more choices in thought, emotion and action, and problems and
discomfort are resolved. |
“I
really enjoy Al’s Awareness Through Movement® class.
Each week he guides us through simple, direct exercises and the results
are outstanding. By listening to my body and incorporating subtle changes
in movement, the stress related aches and pains in my neck and shoulders
are gone. This class is very empowering.” —Joelle Porter,

I have been practicing
Feldenkrais for approximately 2 years with Al and have found great
benefits. I have been diagnosed with Multiple Sclerosis for 19 years. By
using such alternative types of therapy as water exercise, stretch n’
tone classes and Feldenkrais, I have found benefits that keep me stable.
I’ve learned so much about my body and mind through the practice and
positions that Feldenkrais teaches. I would encourage anyone, any
age, to try it. —L. Hodge, Longmont, CO |
