SW/RM Regional Advanced Feldenkrais Training: Evoking Function and Completing the Integration |
|

Taught by Arlyn Zones
Boulder, Colorado • May 18 - 21, 2011
SW/RM Regional Advanced Feldenkrais Training and
Meeting
In many of the descriptions of Dr. Feldenkrais' FI lessons from 1980 it is
simply written: Work with head and feet. How does the work with the head and
feet evoke a functional whole? We will begin the workshop with this investigation.
We will explore this theme with ATM, FI and examples from Moshe's Amherst
FI lessons. The FI work will include work with the head, neck, C7 and the
feet.*
We will also invert the equation by creating the whole of a given organization
primarily from the center outward .
To complete the integration we will see how:
1. the image of a gestalt informs
the clarity of the practitioners' message
2. directing the message to the
core of the person allows the lesson to go deeper
3. influencing the breathing
from many different points allows the lesson to go deeper
4. integrating
all dynamic movement thru C7 allows the lessons to last longer.
5. the improvement
in the practitioner's self use allows for improved communication in FI.
*Improving balance and the organization of the head and neck is of such crucial
importance to a variety of populations. I have used this work in my practice
especially with people who have neurological issues, who have "aging" issues
and who are recovering from injuries.
